This document describe a pilot of the National Summer Learning Association with the MacArthur Foundation that paired teachers with local summer learning programs in New York City and Chicago during the summers of 2012 and 2013. The success of this fellowship program suggests that aligning summer programs with the school year has an important impact on school-year effectiveness. Findings suggest that summer program/teacher partnerships can: enable teachers to test and refine new pedagogical practice and find new ways to integrate technology into instructional practice. The report contains video reflections form the teachers, no-cost online resources, and downloadable Common core-aligned curriculum.
