Former CEO of the Aspen Institute, Walter Isaacson, answers a student’s question about how to get excited about STEM. His response isn’t about the students getting excited, however he does have a message for grown-ups.
The Newark STEM Ecosystem held its second annual convening on January 16, 2025 on the campus of NJIT, bringing together over 130 members from 87 cross-sector partners including education, industry, government, and community organizations. Leadership from both NJIT and Rutgers University-Newark kicked off the event, which featured presentations on innovative approaches to STEM education, including using LEGO for hands-on learning and data visualization tools for decision-making.
The Central 6 STEM Learning Ecosystem has been selected to join the Global STEM Ecosystems Initiative, a worldwide movement that brings together leaders from education, business, government, and community organizations to develop high-quality STEM learning opportunities.
LASTEM’s innovative program integrates STEM concepts with children’s literature to foster early STEM enthusiasm and career exploration, addressing the challenge of limited STEM time in elementary classrooms.
