The Society for Science and the Public shows how science fairs can be an important community-based tool to engage students and families in STEM. Including student stories, program descriptions and resources, the Society for Science and the Public encourages STEM ecosystems to inspire participation in fairs.
Resources include:
- An advocate program to support mentors and teachers guiding underserved students along in research;
- A research teacher’s conference for 200 teachers to participate in a four day professional development conference;
- STEM research grants for teachers leading authentic student research projects in school-based science programs; and
- Free subscriptions to Science News with a teachers guide.
