ExpandED Schools

Sabrina Gomez is the Senior Director at ExpandED Schools where she oversees various STEM initiatives that strengthen formal, informal and out-of-school STEM education and build collaborations among schools, institutions and communities in New York City. Prior to ExpandED Schools, she served as a Teacher Development Coach for The New Teacher Project and was a middle school teacher in the Bronx. Ms. Gomez credits her career trajectory to her early experiences of working alongside her mother in California, advocating for increased opportunities to help Latinos achieve greater gains in education. She continues to be especially interested in identifying ways ecosystems can strengthen STEM literacy among underrepresented youth and families. Ms. Gomez holds a B.A. in History from UCLA and a M.A. in Secondary Education and Education Development from NYU. In her expanded learning time, she enjoys attending art and music shows, practicing yoga and exploring the world.
