Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative (GCSC) was launched in 2011 by P&G and StrivePartnership in response to the accelerating demand for STEM jobs in the Greater Cincinnati region. Fiscal agency moved to the UC Foundation in 2015. GCSC’s mission is to prepare students to join the Greater Cincinnati/Northern KY workforce through connected, robust STEM learning pathways. Its overarching goals are to dramatically increase the number of students who are: 1) STEM aware; 2) STEM interested; and 3) engaged and on track for STEM college and careers.

GCSC leads, connects, catalyzes, and amplifies STEM education/workforce development activity across the three-state, Greater Cincinnati region. It influences a broad network of partners through an advisory board, programs, communities of practice, communications, and convenings. GCSC also represents our region in two national STEM communities, STEM Learning Ecosystems and Makers + Mentors Network. Through its programs delivered collaboratively with partners, GCSC serves about 3,000 students annually, especially those most under-represented in STEM: low-income students, students of color (African-American/Black/Brown and Latino/Hispanic), and girls. These programs are the 3d Printers Club, STEM Bicycle Club, Girls in STEM, and (just-for-COVID) Family STEM Kits.
