Debbi Stone

Debbi is VP of Education at Florida Aquarium. Beginning as a middle school educator, she transitioned to informal science at Mystic Aquarium before relocating to Florida in 2000. Debbi is Past-President of Florida Marine Science Educators Association and Vice-Chair of the Conservation Education Committee for Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Debbi is endorsed by National Association of Interpretation as a Certified Interpretive Guide and Trainer. She is active in the community through Leadership Tampa, Little Kids/Big Minds (early childhood), AMIkids Tampa and Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network Boards, and is President of the environmentally-themed Learning Gate Community School Board. She holds a Bachelor’s in Education, Johns Hopkins University, and an MAT (Middle Grades Biology), Quinnipiac University. Debbi is a SCUBA diver, kayaker, wildlife lover and considers every day an opportunity to see nature in action with husband Kevin, daughters Olivia, Katie, and Kira, plus canine companions Arya and Frodo.
